Holy
Rosary School opened its doors in September, 1934 under the pastoral
care of Father Peter
Niebrzydowski, who will always be known lovingly in our parish as
“Father Pete.” Father Pete
wanted to ensure the education of the children of his parish, whom he
saw as his hope for the future. To achieve this, he built our
school and convent. The
Bernardine Franciscan Sisters responded; the
parishioners responded. A dream
came alive!
Through the next six decades Holy Rosary School saw many changes in the physical plant. Father Pete, and later Father Clarence Sikorski, updated the cafeteria, replaced wiring and updated the classrooms.
When Father Anthony Suchocki became pastor
in 1966, there was a steady progression of educational and
structural changes, among
them the building of the Primary Center in 1989, and its addition in
1991. Father Kaminski was appointed Administrator upon Father
Suchocki’s death in 1991 and that year, the
School “Addition” was completed, and Middle States
Accreditation was earned. Father Rokosz was appointed pastor
in 1991, and completed further renovations of the physical plant.
This is the history of our school building, but the real history of our school can be seen in the eyes of the children who enter our doors year after year. The history of our school is found in those who leave us as better sons and daughters of our God. The history of our school is found in the lives of our families, who share their responsibility for nurturing the faith with us. What Holy Rosary has been, is now, or can be, is seen in the hundreds of lives well-lived after their years with us.
